Whoever said not to nurse your baby/rock your baby to sleep is missing out on some of the best moments of raising an infant. Now, I get why...they need to be able to put themselves to sleep and the is difficult if you're always there to help them. However, Claire seems to do pretty well settling herself to sleep when needed, so when I can, I relish those moments when she is all snuggled up, sleeping & nursing, all warm and cozy. Today we are home because she has her first ear infection. Thankfully the antibiotics seem to work overnight, but since she had a fever yesterday, we can't go back to daycare today. Either way, as I was putting her down for her nap, the light from the shaded skylight was on her, and it was just such a beautiful picture...a little golden glow on her in an otherwise dark room. I wish I could take a picture of it...I may have to figure out how this weekend.
In other news, Noah is also getting over a sickness. He didn't get an ear infection (yet) but has been using the nebulizer and flovent. Several people recommended giving him honey to help soothe his cough. I wasn't sure if he'd like it (I think honey is kinda gross). But when I gave it to him, he was sleepy and having difficulty going to bed because of the cough and he turned to me in his little cute Noah voice and said "I'm a bear." Haha...the only other time he has ever even HEARD of honey that I can recollect is Winnie the Pooh. He has another book (Where's Spot) that has a bear in a closet, holding a jar of honey. It was so cute I almost cried.
